Clear Skin Basics (cont'd)
To begin with, if your skin is not clean it'll be hard pressed to stay clear.  The basic necessities for clear skin are to wash your face when you wake up, and again before bedtime. While we fully believe in Institut' DERMed corrective cleansers, (and they're also very affordable) shop around, you'll find there are a lot of choices in today’s market suitable for any budget. The point is find one, buy one, and start using it.

Do stick to the a.m./p.m. regimen. One of the biggest mistakes acne sufferers make is over-cleansing, this can dry out your skin, which has the opposite effect of what you want because it can cause your pores to produce more oil.

Always use a moisturizer after cleansing. Moisturizing helps to keep your skin balanced. Regardless of how oily your skin is moisturize. Find a moisturizer that is non-comedogenic so it won't clog your pores.

Use mineral make-up! It's anti-bacterial, non-comedogenic and products like Jane Iredale pressed or loose foundation powders also contain an SPF which is wonderful for protecting your skin.

Don't be tempted to touch your face, pick your face, or squeeze your face!! Through-out the course of the day our hands come into contact with a variety of bacterial sources. Keep your hands off your face and that will help a lot in keeping your skin clean.
